I've been waiting so long for Johnny to play Willy Wonka! Yes! One of my favourite films (though I often spend days with the Oompa Loompa song going round and round in my head) and now with one of my favourite wierdo actors and one of the greatest freaky directors! ::squees::

Me too. Been so anxious for it. Tim Burton's films I've always been a bit wary of, haven't liked every one of them. But Willy Wonka was always one of my favs. :)

I'm just reading Charlie and the chocolate factory in Swedish... Kalle och chockladfabriken.
I tried to read it in Finnish but then decided to try different language when I came bored.
Johnny Depp... ::sighs dreamingly::

Huh. Hadn't even thought about it being a book, much less in Swedish. Very cool!

Oh yeah, I loved the film before but with JD in the remake? *happy fangirly sigh* Yeah.

Can I bouce just a little? *almost fallsoff the quaking bed*

STAR WARS!

I have been a Star Wars fan simce before I can remember. I have my kids hooked too. And yes, they are only 3 and 5, but it's ok.

We've been watching the trailer for episode III online. *bounce, bounce, bounce*

And JD is playing Willie Wonka? Cool! Why didn't I know that?

Oh yes!!! *bounces on the bed with you*

Squee! I'm such a fangirl for that series. My kids one day are either gonna be scifi-nerds like me, or hate it.

...and how did you not know? Bah. His photo is everywhere. Speaking of which, I loaded a couple of the released photos into my album - here and here

Hi, found your LJ through [livejournal.com profile] fall_for_sx and the layouts you posted there.

Just wanted to say your artwork is awesome! And the resources page on the design portfolio part of your website was very helpful. I have just started playing with Photoshop and there is so much to learn, not just the program but everything that goes along with making fanart, like finding stock images and just the basic definitions of things. I haven't a clue where to start.

So, I hope you don't mind but I friended you, in the hopes of learning alot.

No, I don't mind at all. That's wonderful that you find it helpful. I appreciate the comments. I've been hoping to have some time lately to put up some tutorials or something for people, but I'm glad to hear the resources section was helpful.

Just let me know anytime you want to know something. :) I'm always happy to help, if I can.

What would be great is if you could point me in the right direction to sites, that define fanart, photoshop terms and/or etiquette, so that when I ask questions I don't sound like an idiot.

I'm going for baby steps here.

Thanks!

Sorry it's taken me so long to answer. I guess I've just been in the art area for so long, I'd never given this much thought. I'd started out with PSP in user forums and learned a lot there. As for PS specific information, I just learned by practice and through tutorials.

I looked up a few things that might help you though. There's an ebook you can download here. Right column at the bottom you can just download it without payment if you wish.

Also, there's an online version of the same kind of thing here. In the left hand column, there's navigation index that'll show you the type of subjects covered.

As for etiquette and such, really you'll just need to get a feel for that. Visit a few different forums. Each of them will usually have their own list of rules or a FAQ somewhere that'll tell you what you need to know. When in doubt though, don't be afraid to ask. :)

Hope this helps.
