While I've added a few new friends that I share interests with in various areas *waves to new friends*, I've also removed some. Now don't get your pantyhose in a twist, so far as I'm aware I only deleted those with purged accounts, those that haven't updated in 10 years, and those that aren't even reading this right now because they already removed me.

If I deleted you by mistake, please let me know!

And so it goes
Livejournal is a funny place sometimes. It comes and goes in waves it seems. People come, and they go. I've met up with many who've left in other online places, and there's still others that have moved on to greener pastures without us. My interest waxes and wanes for journaling (and sharing some of it with you) at the same rate.

On that note, if you're still following me from ages ago and have new friends you think are uber cool, send them my way. I'm always up for meeting and getting to know new folks.

Food
Went out with my Mom tonight to the symphony. We went out to dinner with her friends first. Must say I'm thankful my Mom warned me before we went that the prices were a bit high. She failed to mention there were no prices on the menu.

The mind boggles. I barely withheld a face at that. I also resisted shaking the menu to see if the prices would magically appear.

Awesome food though. I had pasta primavera thinking it'd be less harsh on my stomach. Shared a creme brulee with my Mom (again trying to avoid the temptation of chocolate mouse served in a chocolate cup because of said stomach issues). No tummy aches, and came home with Mom's leftovers which I fully plan on stealing.

Music
Awesome concert tonight by the Boise Philharmonic. Super long too OMG. We saw Chee-Yun play her violin through several songs. My god but can that girl play. She played the entire time without sheet music, and she was so fast I swear smoke came out of her fingers. O.O

The last song they did was an interesting one. They had a local judge narrate the piece. Apparently it's an opera without words. When it's performed they will usually publish programs to go with it that the original composer wrote up to explain his whacked out ideas. LOL The director thought it'd be more interesting (and far more cost effective too I'm sure) to just have a narrator read it aloud instead.

It was an autobiographical piece about the composers obsessive stint as a stalker trying to woo an opera singer. It didn't work out so well for him, and he kept at it for three years. Three opium filled years. *snerk* Very interesting music. If only I could remember the name of the piece...

End of the World
Yeah, not so much. But I did have a killer weather/cold induced migraine and felt like I might die. And my feet were pretty close to falling off after wearing high heels.

Does that count?

:D Am off to bed to sleep off my cold and try to get rid of this damn migraine. Hope y'all had a good apocalyptic night!

  • Been feeling under the weather the past two days. Though my dizzy spells have never abated the migraines have been off and on. Yesterday I had severe migraines pretty much all day. Today it was being sick to my stomach.
  • Getting more comfortable in my paranormal investigation group. It's rather hard for me to come out of my shell. I'm trying to make a point of socializing more, and not isolating myself so much. I know I'm never going to come out of my depression if I don't take steps to protect myself. So, out of the hobbit hole I come.
  • Been watching a few films on Netflix during the day while I'm working. One in particular just tickled me. I wasn't all that impressed with the quality of the film, as I thought the plot very... incomplete. However, it was a treasure to see wee little baby-faced Colin Firth, Rupert Everett, and Cary Elwes. A film from way back in 1984 titled "Another Country". Best bit of it is that it takes place at an all boys school, in England, and Rupert's boyfriend is Cary. *squee*
  • Colored my hair a different shade than usual. Went with medium reddish brown, which on my already dark hair turns out more like a black henna color. It's black, but with a red tint. Of course, my grey hairs turned out a reddish brown, so it's got an odd highlighting to it. Not sure I like it, but it's good for now.

That's it for now. Time to rest a bit and see if that doesn't make me feel a bit better.

Hope everyone else's day/week/month/year have been going well.

If there is one person or more on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

Got me a new driver.  I think I mentioned that I quit my route.  Had an argument with the driver they'd given the route to and just wouldn't take it.

Anyway, they took the route away from her and gave it back to me with a new driver.  She's just great so far.  We have a lot of fun together.

She's a former marine.  She also reminds me a lot of the driver I had last year.  She moved to Idaho because of her girlfriend, ended up staying after her girlfriend cheated on her.  Still lives with said girlfriend along with the new girlfriend of the ex.

Bonus?  She laughs when she's stressed.  I can live with that.  I do much of the same.

Today was an early out for the elementary students.  We had lunch together at the IHOP.  It's amazing what a little neon green shirt (courtesy of the new driver) will do to take care of my little invisi-Saifai problem with the servers there.  Not sure if I've ever mentioned it.  I've got an invisibility curse with both Denny's and IHOP.  It's like once I enter the restaurant and sit down, they promptly forget I exist.

I'll be checking in now and then over the next week.  Spring break started for me today.  I got an entire week of freedom!

P.S.  Anyone got an unbiased (or at least biased on the POV of Nick or James) of the recent Buffy reunion con?  I've read a couple, and both were clearly humongo fans of SMG.  Still haven't gotten over her since Season 6 Buffy stomped all over my Spike (why yes, I can hold a grudge.  why do you ask?).  I've read a few comments on things Nick Brendon said and laughed quite a bit, especially over that Susan Lucci comment (ouch, but damn funny).  I'm curious to know what more banter went on between James Marsters, Nick Brendon, and maybe Seth Green.  Any links with transcripts of the infamous Q & A are muchly appreciated.

P.P.S.  I got me some jury duty.  I'm making plans of escape.  They gave me short notice too.  Hopefully they won't call me.  I sooo can't afford to be called to duty.  My employer doesn't pay for the time I'm gone, and you know I'll make just enough for a Happy Meal from the state.  Joy.

I don't know why I got to thinking about this today.  I've been lazing around today, doing chores here and there, running errands and the like.  But still I find myself thinking about the past.  It has no reflection on today, except that it's still something I think about now and then.

Oddly enough, I don't think it's something I've ever talked about in my journal.

The day the earth stood still... )

There's really no point in sharing this other than to implore everyone out there to think twice before you say something.  You may mean it in the heart of the moment, but could you live with the consequences?

I never told this person any of this before.  I'm not sure I ever will.  It's not for them to know.  It's something just for me to deal with now.

If you'll excuse me, I need some chocolate.

There's never enough time. Why is it when you tell people you don't have time, they take it as a reason to argue with you? They insist that you don't understand, or that you're stalling, or that it's just another excuse. Is it so hard to believe that people just may not really have the time available to give you? *sigh* I don't know if this makes any sense at all. I suppose I'm just bitching because I can. I've got a few people over here wanting more of my time. Got one "friend" trying to get me into her business. Great business actually, and even better products. Just don't have time to deal with it. I've got a business of my own to run, without having to stretch myself thinner than I already am. Then, I've got another large scale project I'm working on with hubby. So, yeah - just call me "She of Little Time".

Speaking of little time, I'm not sure who all I told, but I finally got the results back from the doctor. I've been in and out of the doctors, getting tests run, feeling like shit in general. Turns out it's nothing too serious, just a little something that happens to be screwing with my system in unusual ways. I believe the lady told me it's a Uterine Fibroid. TMI?

Okay, enough updates for now. I'll have more later...

Have you ever known anyone that is like your... hell, I don't even know what to call it. Is there a term? Twin? This person reflects your every experience, thought, interest, and choice. Most times you don't even need to bother verifying that they know what you're discussing, because you already know they must be familiar with the concepts.

Synchronicity is the term for it, at least on some level anyway. Anyone know what this is? It's an idea that Carl Jung talked about, but most recently it's been the prevalent feature in a book titled Celestine Prophecy. A friend of mine had suggested I read it, if only because he thought he recognized some of the signs of coincidences...

It's almost disconcerting at times to know that there's someone out there that you share everything with. Why does it bother me? Only because I don't know what to think of it; meaning, I don't have a previously conceived category to place this person. Friend. Got that much. But, doesn't that sound just a bit weak of a term? I mean, we're talking here about a person that you don't necessarily know all that well (even though you really do), and your relationship with them is more like a really close family member (like a sibling, but only for the reason that they're unlikely to ever not be a part of your life in some way).
