So, I'm home.
Nov. 22nd, 2004 05:10 pmDidn't have a good morning. First, I stalled with email (thanks to all of you this morning). Then I studied a bit. Followed up with a lovely shower *wiggles eyebrows*, that unfortunately preceded a lovely migraine attack. I get those sometimes when I'm stressed. It was one of the bad ones where I felt faint. Very lovely way to start off the morning. Got ready in plenty of time to study a bit more though, so that was good.
I got there just a few minutes late. The migraine attack slowed me down quite a bit. It was one of the ones I felt faint from. Had me worried though. Once I got there, we had a few more sheets to go over before taking the test. One of them was on epilepsy. Of course, I'm already panicked and think, "Oh God, what if I'm actually having epilepsy? They won't let me work!" *rolls eyes* Shut up. I was panicking. Anyway, I asked the supervisor about protential problems with my migraines and she said no big deal, as she gets them too (and she's a driver).
Did a walk through with the bus tie downs for wheelchairs, and then took the test. There were two of them, and they weren't that bad at all. At least, they didn't tell me I screwed up too bad. It was more of an assessment to determine if the training took hold.
Apparently it did, because I went on my first route at 2pm. It wasn't a route that normally required a monitor. They were just elementary kids. Only about 20 of them. They were mostly good, but I appreciated the chance to get a first look at discipline with them. Since I didn't have to do wheel chairs or safety vests for preschoolers (equivalent of child seat), all I had to do was keep them quiet and in their seats.
*shrug* So, tomorrow is my first full day. I'll start at 5:50am. I'll have several hours in the middle of the day to get stuff done at home, then I'll be back to work for another couple hours around 2pm. Not too bad really.
Speaking of which, I just wanted to thank y'alll who I owe stuff to for being patient with me. This week for training has taken up a bit more time in my day that I anticipated. Most days I was there for 8 hours or more. Starting tomorrow though, I'll have the middle of the day off. I'll finally have a chance to get stuff done.
txrabbit, your journal stuff is first. Next up are the icons I owe people. I haven't forgotten about you (I don't think... *scratches head*).
