First, I wanted to wish...
Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] automatedalice_ and [livejournal.com profile] red_sunflower!

Now on to the good stuff.  Oh now, come on.  You know you love my rants.  *gr*
I'm sure I've said something before about that woman that Hubbyfai was friends with that had moved to Iraq to work?  You know, the one that left her two kids behind for 18 months in the care of one of his other friends?  Well it seems that while she was gone she had finagled a deal with Mr. Sai for him to set her son up with a viola for school (you know, since she's gone).

Well, a couple months back, her psycho Mom managed to talk her daughter into letting her take one of the kids.  She can't handle the both of them, so the second one left to live with some friends of his (he's sixteen).  The problem with that is the woman can't stand kids.  She's got major OCD issues.  Her obsessive complusive disorder deals with cleanliness and order.  Worst of all?  She won't admit it.  Anyway, that's what she can't stand her grandkids.  Apparently they're filthy little buggers.  Also?  She's just really not a kind person.

Right, so she takes in the littlest one.  The kid's Mom calls Mr. Sai and lets know that her Mom will take over payments instead of her having to send him money for it.  Two months go by and the grandmother refuses to pay the bill.  Hubby can't stop payments because as long as the instrument is missing, and he's got the payment coupon book, he's responsible for the bill.  This also means that if there's a problem, they have his phone number on file.

Well, they used that number this morning.  The woman from the music store called earlier to tell him his viola is read to pick up.  The grandmother had dropped it off to get the string fixed.  *bounce*  Mr. Sai of course zooms over there, while he's got the chance, to cancel the contract (which also meant he had to pay the past due amount).  He's leaving them with the grandmother's phone number so if she wants to setup a new contract to rent the instrument, she can do that.

I'm just upset it had to happen in the first place.  It's unfortunate for one because we were already having problems with the friend of Mark's because she said some unkind things about Mr. Sai behind his back to another friend of his.  Then the grandmother goes and stiffs him for the bill of her own grandson's school instrument.  In the mean time, this kid (who's a real sweety by the way) is caught in the middle of all this.

*sigh*  No real point in telling you all this.  Just something I had to get off my chest I guess.  I just hope the grandmother doesn't cause more problems for the kids.

Oh, as an update to yesterday, I found me a beta.  *waves to [livejournal.com profile] kyrieane*  If you're wondering abou the story itself, I've posted a bit of the unbeta'd story to my update list.  I'll post finished versions here.
