Last story for tonight kiddies...

I know, I know. Y'all can just quit your whining. *pats your heads* So gather round for the third and final ghost story of the evening.
This last one is a really creepy one, and also just this side of short. It's another one of my hubby's stories from his days in the NAVY. His roomates and him always led somewhat of a wild life back then (to put it mildy). It seems Mark had gone out to do his best to do everything his parents never wanted him to do, and then some. Yeah, he'd kill me for sayin' it, but it's true.
Well among other things, renting a certain video was top on his list. It's a video I don't even think you can get here in Idaho. It's called "Faces of Death". As I understand it, it's a video about people dying. It's real video footage of it happening. I don't remember much now, though when hubby told me this story he told me quite a few of the stories from the video. I'll save you the nightmares though and skip that part.
Point though is that they did indeed watch it. They were completely horrified and engrossed in it at the same time. They couldn't get enough of it. Rather like watching a train wreck. You know you shouldn't, but just can't seem to take your eyes off the screen. Well, that is until something happened.
Their third bunk mate had gone out for the evening maybe 15 minutes into the film, so for most of it there was just the two of them. However, the third chair was still setup in front of the small entertainment center. It must have been three quarters of the way through the film though that mark noticed something odd. Something caught his attention from out of the corner of his eye. He looked around the room and couldn't figure out what was wrong. He shivered and went to turn his attention back to the TV, but it was as he looked at the third chair beside them that he noticed what was wrong.
He sat there, unable to look away as the third chair depressed as if someone was sitting down. He swallowed hard and tapped his friends arm to get his attention. He directed his attention to the chair. They both just sat there staring at the chair. They nervously flicked their eyes back to the TV just in time to witness the death of a prisoner, receiving his final death at the electric chair. Just as the final spasm of the man in on-screen passed, they looked back to the chair beside them. The chair cushion raised again, indicating that whatever was sitting there was getting up.
They watched as the unseen forced walked out the door, making it's presence known as the door opened up and closed seemingly by itself.
As you can imagine, they turned off the video at that point to late night cartoons. They returned the video to the store the next day.
I hope you all had a wonderful evening, for those that celebrated. For myself, I enjoyed re-watching Men in Black while making a dent in the Halloween candy I bought yesterday. Night y'all! I'm heading bed so I can get an early start on my Nano tomorrow.
