Need a little change...

I'm giving up on my original Nano idea. It's still a really good idea, and I will write it, but it just requires too much research for the Nano. I won't have it done in time for November 1st, and I'm afraid I will have trouble writing the story without it. As it is, the plot has yet to reveal itself. That will come with more research.
Yeah, I feel bad about it too actually. I'm usually such a one-track minded person. But, I really need to this time. My question to my family over the weekend was, "If you have a chance to write a book that is a really good idea, and would be publishable when finished, but you have no characters or plot - or you could write a story that already has developed characters, plots, story arcs, scenes sketched out and more, but it would only be published online for fanfic readers - which one would you choose to write?" Of course, they picked the latter.
Good news for the slashers on my list though, it's a crossover Spike/Xander story. I've been talking about it forever, but never did sit down and write it. Kinda scared me at the thought of writing something I *know* for a fact is gonna be a long-assed story. So, it's all good. :)
