I'm having a quiet morning. The last couple days have been a bit crazy. Last week's cleaning was extended a bit, mostly because the guy hired to replace my Mom once she retires gave up the job. So while they were looking for another new person, we worked on other things.

We're slowly forming solid plans for the fixing up of this place. We want to spring clean, and get everything up to snuff. But we're also doing things with a tilt towards eventually selling the place. The question comes down to how best to spend money on the place without dipping into the profit we'd get from selling.

It heated up a bit the last several days, so with a break in the weather I'm battling migraines. I'm rather hoping though with the cooler weather I'll get a break in the pain so I can do more work in the garden. I've got a few super sized weeds I need to do battle with. Seriously, these puppies are ready to revolt and take over the garden.

Bah. Less talking, more working. Hope you all had a brilliant weekend, and hope your week goes fantastic!

LoL - Luckily it's not too bad to yet. Give it a couple days I'm sure it'll change again though. Per usual.

My brother still lives there so I get regular reports anyway. I was born there in 1950 - up on the Bench, which was the end of town back then.

Its amazing to me the development here over the years. The population is still relatively small compared to other urban areas. I was in highschool here in the 90s, and past the bench the city didn't go much past the highway. Now the city ends somewhere about 2 miles south of Kuna. Out by Meridian, just in the last few years Boise has met up in the middle around Eagle road. Rather slow development compared to bigger cities, but still impressive considering the size of the population.

Do you have any specific plans for the garden?

I've always got very outlandish plans, but I can never quite manage the work involved in such things. Eventually we want to add in a pathway that runs from the front of the house, around the side, and into the back where we would have a second little patio. Ultimately, we want to add in as much xeriscaping as possible because of the dry climate here. Adding in more native plants that area used to the little water, and maybe some edible plants, bushes, and trees as part of our food storage. But how much of that we'll get done before we sell the place is anyone's guess.
