saifai | Grr! Now the temporary computer isn't working right!!!

So, just as I get all my files transferred to hubby's computer? It breaks down. I downloaded an update from Microsoft and also one from Spybot, and my computer is now in a never-ending startup loop. I had to reinstall Windows to a different directory to get it to stop. There was no way to recover it. So, now I've got two operating systems on the same computer.

The problem is that all my programs were registered to work with the previous version operating system, and since the new operating system resides in a different folder, none of my programs can find anything. Hardly anything works.

No graphics program, no HTML editor, no screenplay software. Nothing.

*flails*

Right. So now I've got to backup hubby's and my files now, then reinstall a clean version of his operating system. Lovely. Just lovely.

*screams at the top of her lungs, "Why me???"*

ETA: I've just discovered that not only does none of my business applications work, but now none of my Windows Office programs work either (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.). Why? No registry for them on this operating system means they're as good as uninstalled versions. *sobs* All I can use at the moment, besides the Windows, is Semagic and my internet browser. *hugs her flist* At least I still have you guys!
