And the beat goes on...
Oct. 7th, 2005 05:20 pmThe lead dispatcher came back to work. Hubby and the head honcho held out their hopes to work through the situation and were able to work to a tentative resolution. The lead dispatcher insists he understands the mistakes he's making and is asking to be allowed to learn from them and continue his work. The route planning ladies are still out for blood, but will leave him be for now. In an interesting turn of development, the entire staff of the route planning department have been banned from the dispatching office. Word has it they need to use messengers if they ever hope to speak with the dispatchers about anything (or, you know, the phone - whichever works best).
In other news, the matriarch of hubby's family is on her death bed. I consider her the matriarch I suppose because she's the oldest of the aunts and uncles left in the family. She will also be the first of those thirteen siblings to pass on after the death of their parents (hubby's grandmother passed on about seven years ago or more now, and his grandfather years before I met him). Incidentally, she's my favorite of all of my hubby's aunts and uncles. She is such a sweet lady. It'll be sad to see her go. I suppose it'll be a good thing to see her finally get some peace after both her hard life and her recent times of illness. They say she'll pass on within a few hours.
Bearing that in mind, I've been trying like mad to get my homework I was going to do this weekend done now. I know I won't be in any state of mind to do much of anything after it all goes down. I assume we'll find out more later tonight or even in the morning. I've chosen to hold off on calling my hubby with the news and just waiting until he gets home from work to let him know. I don't see any reason to upset him while he's at work and has enough to deal with there.
*sigh* I'm doing okay for the moment though. I'm getting set to read through a few articles and chapters from my homework this week before I sit down and start my Friday series of shows. There may be chocolate chip cookies for me later on this evening.
