I gone and done it.
Jun. 14th, 2005 04:13 pmJust got back from an appointment with a local school. I signed up to enter their BSIT program. Information Technology. It's the last thing I need to get me a job in my current field. That last thing being a degree and a bit more information on database systems for web development. I'm rather excited about it too. I guess they gear the homework assignments around your current work, so that should come in handy down the road.
Cool thing is that with my prior college courses, I'll be able to enter on the Junior Level and skip the lower end classes. Honestly though, I'm gonna sign myself up for the English, Math, and Critical Thinking coures to freshen up. I know math and english, though oddly enough neither have ever been my best subjects.
So. I start school at the end of this month, should my application and financial aide come through. Found out that my surgery (which I'm thinkin' now will be schedule for a year from now since I found an insurance agency that will cover me, and pay 80% of the cost) will be okay. I'll have to have a Leave of Absence, and they allow 60 days for that. It won't be full recovery time, but seein' as I'll at least be able to get my butt out of bed long enough to get to a class or two during the remainder of my recovery, it shouldn't be that big of deal.
That's it. That's my news. Nothing else is going on. *shrug* I'm off to finish my financial aid application papers. Ta' for now.
