Strange dream strikes again...

saifaiNo Xander this time, unfortunately. Nah, this time my house exploded.
Not kidding, either. I don't know how it happened, but I'm sure that I had an inkling that it was going to happen. I think it surprised me that it happened so fast though. My Mom was with me. We were heading out through the garage, I was standing in the driveway saying goodbye to my hubby as he drove off somewhere. I turned back to go through into the garage, and noticed a bag of his sitting there. I spun back around to get his attention, but it was too late already.
I shrugged and turned back towards the garage again, my eyes set on the bags he left behind. One of mine were sitting next to it, as I was heading out somewhere with my Mom that day. No sooner than I thought that I should grab it all and get going, I glanced up towards the house when I noticed some movement. The ground was shaking. More than that, the house was vibrating. I got such a horrible feeling wash over me. I just grabbed my mother and starting running away towards the other side of the street.
Just as we got to the middle of the street, my Mom starts tugging on my arm and yelling, "NO!" Then the house blew up. I could feel the rush of heat hitting the backs of my legs. We were blown free and landed in an alley between two houses.
Next thing I know I wake up and the emergency vehicles are there picking through our house. I slipped through between two trucks and made my way back into the house through the garage. I stopped in shock at the door of the garage, just standing there gaping as they brought out a body. I blinked, and the body turned into blackened table legs.
My last thought before I woke up was that I lost everything, that I had nothing. If I'd only known ahead of time, I would have been able to at least save some documents.
Needless to say, after that dream I've got an insatiable need to prepare our house for just such an emergency. I need to finish getting all our important documents into our safety deposit box, I need to get me a key for it (hubby has one, and lost the other), and I'd like to start scanning in my pictures and saving them to disc (or just re-printing them). I've got all the old photographs from my grandmother here at the house. I'd been meaning to make copies to send to my sister and my Uncle, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I can only imagine how devistated I would be if the house was destroyed before I ever got a chance to do it.
On a happier note, I'm in a great mood today. Yeah, I'm tired. I mean, I woke up from that dream around 2:30 this morning and had trouble getting back to sleep. I'm really good though. Today is the last day of regular school. I get off early, then hubby and I are going to a company picnic around 5pm. Then I'm off for four days before I have to go back to work for summer school.
I'm a bit behind on comments as of late, but I plan on getting caught up tomorrow. I'll be without car tomorrow since my hubby is borrowing my car. His car pushed a rod, and he's taking it over to the mechanics to see what they say before we scrap it. So, I'll have plenty of time to waste. :)
