Happy Thanksgiving!!!

saifai...to everyone who celebrates it. If you're stuck at home with no meal waiting for you, don't worry I brought a fic rec or two.

So, I'm having a traditional southern Thanksgiving meal today. I say that only because my Grandmother on my Dad's side, who was from Georgia, gave my Mom the recipes. Actually, it was her that taught my Mother how to cook. That's something I'll always be thanksful for. Cuz if my maternal Grandmother had had a hand in it, I'd have starved by now. *eww* I'm following inflaming_muse's footsteps and giving y'all a rundown of my menu:
We're leaving out the relish tray this year as we don't usually eat all that much of it. My Mom was going to cook it this year, but I think she might be a bit too sick to handle it. I'll probably get it started. *checks watch* I'm gonna put the pies in soon, then after they're done I'll get the Turkey started.
Now for what you've all been waiting for, I've been reading a story. I forget where I got it now. I think I might have found it by link hopping from a rec list somewhere. Anyway, I've just finished reading ..."Manly Girly-Giggles" by Kiara and I've just started it's sequel "Radioactive Flowers" by Kiara.
It's a little different. The first one starts off with Anya leaving Xander in a huff and cursing him by turning him into a woman. So, it follows Xanders struggles, and a battle with an invasion of aliens, all while dealing with falling for Spike. So yeah, there's some het action. It's so funny though, because he still acts and thinks like Xander, but with an added hormonal twist to it all. The sequel starts off with Xander back in his manly form. There be slash in them thar words. Haven't read too far into it yet, so I can't tell you what it's about. But it'll have something to do with the aftermath of the invasion of the aliens. And there might be demon interior design too. *g*

- Turkey Breast - cooked with butter, salt, and pepper (we usually do a whole bird)
- Sage and Onion Dressing - made with turkey drippings.
- Mashed Potatoes
- Creamed Peas & Onions
- Candied Yams - with Marshmallows
- Fruit Salad - grapes, mandarin oranges, pineapple, and marchino cherries in whip cream
- Crescent rolls
- Cranberries - jellied and traditional relish
- Pumpkin Pie - Libby filling, made from recipe on can.
- Wine (for mom) and Martinelli's Sparkiling Cider (for me and the hubby)
