Usually I'm a collector of Monopoly.  I've got several already.  Found a new game I might be interested in.  There's now a LotR trilogy version of Risk.  You battle over Middle Earth.  Is that too cool, or what?  *bounce*

Today was my first day on a regular route.  I'm on break at the moment, getting ready to head back for the afternoon route.  The kids this morning were great.  A bit quiet, and bit unused to my presence, but overall pretty good.

A bit of background explantion here.  Some of the kids that we ship around the district are what we call ELL students.  It means that English is a second language for them.  My driver warned me about some of the junior high boys that ride in the afternoon that are from Nigeria.  She told me this morning, "These boys have little respect for women in positions of power, so be careful how you deal with them.  They'll test you, and if you are too nice to them, they'll lose respect for you and walk all over you."  Wonderful.  Lucky for me I don't have a problem with people like that.  Might have to watch my mouth if they get too smart with me.  Suppose I could always give them the smile of death.  *evil grin*  She'd also said that they shouldn't be allowed to argue too much with each other as their fights inevitably lead to fist fights.

So, I guess I'll just have to make my own judgements about them.  I figure we can learn to respect each other in some way.  They are chilldren afterall, and each child has their own needs that need to be met.  Every one of them are different, and will hide behind bluster.  I realize that, and I'm not sure she does.  I think that monitors get different student management training than drivers do.  We have far more interaction with the students than they do, as that's all we're there for during a drive.

*shrug*  I'm honestly not too worried about it.  I'll let y'all know how it goes.

In other news, my Mom is finally getting the condo she was awarded in the divorce handed over to her.  Dad still hasn't paid up the mortgage like he was supposed to (he took a second), but oh well.  Once she gets the mortgage in her name, and her other house sold, she won't have to worry about it anyway.  The folks that are buying her house wanted to close tomorrow.  Of course she told them no.  Hopefully she'll have everything taken care of after the Holidays.

*checks watch*  Eep, gotta go.  Catch y'all later!  *hugs to all*
