...ass. Yup. Though really it's all my fault. See, I got a fancy new updated version of Photoshop. Not wanting to get rid of the old one until I know the new one is going to work, I installed it without taking the other one. Mistake the first.

So, since neither one of them worked now (they would just shut down on me if I tried to open a file from within the program). I thought uninstalling the other one would help at least the newer version work right. So I uninstalled it. It popped up the question about getting rid of shared files, I absentmindedly clicked "Yes to All". Mistake the second.

Luckily, those types of programs keep their own versions of the shared files in their own program folders. I started up SpyBot (lovely program) and checked for system problems. It brought up a list of about twenty files being looked for in the shared file folder that is now not there. Found the files it needs. Got my Photoshop to work right again. Phew!

You'd think that would be the end of the story, but all of that? Took me all day to do it. Why? Because first the problems I was having with Photoshop would actually shut down my computer as well. It did that several times over the process of figuring out the possible problem, and then uninstalling the older program. Then froze again when I ran Spybot. Ran okay the second time I ran it, but only if I stopped almost all my running programs first.

You know, I just never knew one program could cause so many problems if you didn't install it right. Now that I got everything running right, I can finally finish the icon projects I've been working on. (don't everybody cheer at once)
