Oh for...

I feel rather like a country song at the moment. LOL

The Bad
* My fridge and freezer went out. We've got our fridge and freezer items sitting in the deep freezer that (you guessed it) is also going out. It's cool enough to keep things just a bit, but not long term solution. We have a mini-freezer on order, and we're going out this afternoon to buy a new fridge.

* My cat is on his last legs (not unsuprisingly as he's going on 19, almost 20 now). I keep saying that, but a few years now actually. But he's been acting very weird lately. He was stumbling around the other night, which is a sure sign of heart problems. He's still alive, but we keep expecting to wake up one day to find him gone.

* I'm still struggling to get over my laryngitis. If I drink warm jello (trick from my ex-husband, use the sugar-free kind in a teaspoon or so per cup and it works wonders), and not talk at all I can build up reserves. Unfortunately those reserves are worth about 5 minutes of hoarse talking before it starts to break out into a whisper.

* Oh. And it's that time of the month again.

The Good
* I have cookies. Yay! There was briefly some chocolate in there somewhere, but it disappeared within the first day.

* Netflix Instant put out Resident Evil: AfterLife, so I was finally able to watch that. BRRAAAIIINNNNZZZZZ!!! Gotta love zombies.

* Finally settled in to re-watch Stargate SG-1 from the beginning. Am rediscovering my love for the show, and Teal'c in particular (the man with four facial expressions). We are amused.

Hope everyone else is having a better week.

Sorry about your kitty. No matter how old, it tough to lose them.

I have a lot of love for early SG-1. There are very few episodes I don't like and only one I won't rewatch at all: Emancipation. Man, I hate that episode.

Indeed. ;-)

I didn't care much for that episode itself, but I do adore Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. For me, it was worth watching just to ogle him.

Oh me too! If I can get my hands on more chocolate, I figure my odds of a better week will increase exponentially.

Thank you. So far so good, but we know it's only a matter of time.

Ugh, broken fridge! I hope you get a new one soon.

SG-1 is the awesomest. Daniel has my favorite facial expressions, especially when he's trying to push his glasses up his nose. You'd think Michael Shanks would be used to the glasses after a while.

We found a great local place to order a new fridge. Got a great deal, plus free setup and delivery. It won't be here until Friday so we bought a wee little half fridge until then (which will also make a good extra storage or something for our downstairs).

I'd always wondered if Michael Shanks would keep trying to push glasses up his nose after the show ended.

Daniel does indeed have great expressions though. He's very emotive.

I have such a serious Daniel crush. My husband is more of a Sherlock. Which is difficult to live with!

I've got a wee crush on all of them to be honest, for different reasons, but I'm a bit more partial to Teal'c. He just amuses me.

Sherlock I absolutely adore, but I'm learning it's just Jeremy Brett that I truly favor (not that I wouldn't love the Benedict Cumberbatch version coming back). I love his version of the character. He's so full of life. Been driving my Mom a bit nuts with him. LOL It's why we started watching Stargate. She needed a break.

Speaking of Benedict, I think he's make an awesome Doctor Who.

I love Jeremy Brett too. I hope my husband would be a little more like him when he gets older. (I did the same, stopped watching that show in favor of SG-1. Not enough time in the day.) Jeff's definitely more like the Benedict character, the whole Asperger's way of looking at things and more than a little narcissistic.

He would be a great Doctor! I have some Doctor Whos to catch up on. I only saw the first one this season. Also, I'd like to see more "Lie to Me," which is a Sherlocky show about lie detection through neuro-linguistic programming. It's a little too well-explained for someone who already knows how it works, but it's interesting. I only saw the first one.

Those two Sherlocks are definitely worlds apart. I can see where the newer show was inspired by the Jeremy Brett version, but the differences are still interesting.

I've been not keeping up with the Doctor Who this season. The whole thing with the character River Song and the reverse timeline is really confusing.

Haven't seen this Lie to Me. Sounds interesting though.

Lie to Me looks pretty good. It's on Netflix. In the one I was watching, Lightman (the visual lie detector expert) cuts himself just to prove that a guy is a hemophobe.

Ugh, I had the fridge thing happen to me before. The worst is when it comes all of the sudden, and you have to panic about where you put all the food so it doesn't spoiled. It's why we have three refrigerators in my house (kitchen, pool side, laundry room). At the very least, you have tons of awesome and new ones to chose from.

I'm sorry about your cat. :( Hopefully he passes on painfully. 19 years, though, damn. I don't know much of a cat's lifespan, but that's one long life.

Indeed. We bought a wee little second one now. It's about half size, and will keep it around for backup when the new replacement fridge gets here. Plus a small little extra freezer. It's been a pain. We ended up losing a lot of food. But hey, it was an excuse to get some fast food for dinner tonight. :D

19 is indeed a long time for a cat. Not the longest ever, but they're pretty damn old once they reach about 16 or so. Every year after is just a blessing. Many breeds of cats have natural deficiencies that kick in around that age (much like they do with humans). Sad, sad.
