My cat loves to sleep under my computer desk. Right over my computer cords actually. I've had to setup a dog bed under there on top so he'll quit pulling my keyboard and mouse off their shelves.

His favorite hobby is to stretch and reach his big ass claws over to my foot. It's a game I suppose to see if I'm still paying him any attention.

There is a reason this is a big deal. First a bit about my cat.

He's a big cat. At his biggest, he was 19 or 20 pounds. He's smaller now, but the ginormous claws are still there. His claws are so big they stick out of his feet and he clicks as he walks.

Like a wee little tiger. He used to have fangs too that hung out of his mouth they were so big, but we had to have 'em pulled (poor guy his a permanent sneer now where the teeth used to set over his lips).

So, big cat, big claws, IN MY FEET!!!

Oww. *sigh* But I still love him, the big brat.

He just doesn't understand that the claws actually hurt. Silly boy.

Ouch! I can sympathize!

If his claws are clicking on the floor, that is probably uncomfortable for him. They need trimming badly. Believe me, I know. I let my cat's claws click on the floor for months on end and finally had a look at them. One of the claws was bent sideways it was so long. I trim once per month now.

Mine used to be an outdoor cat and he would wear them down himself back then. Now I have to trim them not only because they get too long, but I'm tired of getting shredded if he accidentally gets out and I have to go catch him. We actually have welding gloves (heavy leather with gauntlets) to catch him even with them trimmed.

Never though of using welding gloves. Have to keep that in mind for bath time. :D (he's getting on in age, so baths are up to me these days, unfortunately)

It probably is. His back claws have always hung out of his big feet (they don't fully retract). The vet helps us make sure they're as trimmed as we can get them, but it's not usually enough. Poor guy.

He's always been pretty good about his claws. For the longest time we thought he was declawed. He is being playing playful, but man... LOL Silly boy, indeed. :D

He's usually pretty good about his claws. Never been the violent sort. But when he's playful and the claws come out... yeah. LOL They're very sharp.

He really is loveable. Very much a force of nature for sure. He always gets his way. Has us trained well. :D
