Supernatural 6.1 mini-review

Finally got a chance to watch it with my mother. I'd heard mostly bad things about the episode, and I had a few different thoughts on it.

At first, I was pissed off. People are making choices about Dean's life for him. Choices they didn't have any business making. After everything Dean had been through, he at least deserved the truth.

It made me very bitter.

However, this assumes that you're dealing with the normal characters. I told my mother as I was watching that it feels like Dean is the butt of someone's joke.

I don't trust the cousins, I don't trust Grandpa, and I sure as hell don't trust Sam. They're not normal. They're not acting right. They're just too... unemotional.

Not just flat characters. It's very deliberate. They smirk at odd moments, and I can't help but feel like they're laughing at Dean.

It honestly leaves me more confused than anything.

I think Bobby believes the way he does because of Sam. But as for Sam, I'm almost not sure what to think. I'm fairly certain Grandpa and the "cousins" if they're not who they say they are, then at the very least up to something and not telling anyone.

I'm not sure quite yet if Sam knows what's going on, but I'm very sure that Sam isn't right. And not just in the acting out of character "because I just came back from Hell" bit. I mean like a bad copy.

I don't know how else to describe it. It's just... not right.

Will have to see more episodes to see if I'm right or not.

Yes! That's what I keep thinking! And it makes me kind of ansty because Sam's my favorite since the beginning, season one. Even with all the I-ended-the-world-woe-is-me angst. But him being all flat is all wrong for a guy that's driven by his emotions 24/7.

Hopefully the rest of the season will resolve the issues. Because Sam is one of my favorites here too.
