Based on the best-selling "Dresden Files" novels by Jim Butcher, this 2-hour backdoor pilot film (on Sci-Fi Channel) will be executive produced by Academy Award(R) winner Nicolas Cage and Norm Golightly of Saturn Films. Erik Dresden (Butcher is hoping for James Marsters) is a detective with extraordinary powers, the kind that could belong only to the descendant of a long line of wizards. This is an odd coincidence for me because I just finished reading Storm Front last week...and subsequently purchased the other four as soon as I could get my hands on them. Love the way Butcher writes Harry. His sense of humor is fantastic.

To see James Marsters in the role...especially with Angel ending...would be fantastic. But I'll certainly watch either way.

Maybe they changed it from Harry to Erik because there's already one very well known wizard named Harry on the market?
