Question of the Day:  How do you take a downloaded AVI file and burn it onto a DVD?  I've got the AVI, and the DVD burner, but I've got no idea what software I need in order to do that.  Ideas?

I'm stuffed full of leftovers.  Day two of the feeding season has left me very content.  I hope all you fellow Americans out there had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  May your weekend be just as joyful.  *hugs all around*

Lots has been going on.  I've got an appointment with the president of the Paranormal Society of Idaho on the 2nd of December.  Won't know until then what will happen about becoming a member.

Hubby moved out a week or two or so ago.  Haven't thought much about it since then.  He spent Thanksgiving away from home.  I had a hard time with that.  My Mom and I ended up cooking an entire Thanksgiving spread for just the two of us.  There's enough leftovers to feed a small army.

I've not been writing much.  I have been doing a few graphics, and I've been reading a ton.  Mostly fan fiction of the Wincest, Spander, Sarkney, and LotR variety.

I had more to say, but I forgot what else there was.  *moop*  I'm off to watch Ghost Whisper, Close to Home, and Numb3rs.

To burn a DVD, you need DVD burning software. I've seen it free, but none I've tried was really very good. Free DVD burning software crashes -- a lot.

What I use is Nero. You can download a free trial for that.

Ah. That sounds like what I might need to get the coding right on the files. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you. :) It was kind of an odd day for me, but the hugs help. My Mom and I did make the best of it. It was a pretty good day.

Turkey makes life good! That and chocolate. By the ton.

So what's the Paranormal Society up to? Sounds fascinating.

Chocolate is a good thing. David Letterman last night said that to fight the Triptofan or whatever it is in Turkey, his mother would put a nicotine patch on the thigh. I say just consume mass amounts of chocolate. *nods*

The Paranormal Society I just recently heard about. I can't remember if I mentioned anything about them in my journal. I've never heard of them before I started hearing them in the news recently. One of the radio interviews mentioned a website, and I visited and emailed them about the "become a member" link I saw. Here is the website I found.

I dunno, I guess it's just been something I always wanted to get involved in. Ever since I was a little girl, when I did a science fair project on Parapsychology, have I wanted to be involved with all that. Put with my own ghosty experiences... yeah. I can't wait to meet with the woman.

Clone DVD (www.slysoft.com) I think does it though I've never played around with it so you'd have to look on the main site, but you can yuse it to rip dvds and transfer files which have been downloaded. It depends though since most AVI and divx files won't play on a normal dvd because they need the codecs the computer supplies to read them.

I'll check it out, but the coding issue might be a problem. Someone else mentioned Nero which has a decoding and recoding feature that might work for that issue.
