Happy Pills
Getting to the good stuff: It wasn't the fibroid tumor causing me trouble. Actually, I had kidney problems. Well on my way to all better now, so no worries. The doctor that treated me was suitably impressed though. Apparently I have a high pain threshold. News to me, but he says I should have been in the hospital sooner. *shrugs* Not sure why though, other than that I could have gotten the happy pills sooner. Speaking of which, Darvocet? Cool stuff.
Technical Terms
Found out something interesting about the fibroid though. The doctor comes in and gives me the rundown of what's wrong with me, quickly, then gets to the really exciting news. He expressed his concerns over dealing with the fibroid sooner rather than later. He said that the x-ray technician had come to him and said, "Man, would you look at the size of that thing? She's got a monster fibroid in there!" Mr. Doctor was a bit annoyed, "Would you not call it that?" The x-ray technician then shrugs and says, "Okay then, it's frikkin' huge!!!"

Yeah. My doctors were weird. I kept calling him Dr. Snarky, but I don't think he understood what it meant.
Well, okay. Maybe it was me that was weird what with the happy drip going on in my IV all. Details.

Date: 2004-03-27 11:04 pm (UTC)I never really though of myself as having a high pain threshold. I've always thought I was a wimp. I hate pain. Tried to tell the doctor that. They didn't really believe me when I insisted that I was allergic to needles either. Go figure.
