During a break from cleaning up our yard this morning, hubby and talked about homes. He'd said he wanted a Victorian house. Which, I so don't want. I'm phobic about them. Had some bad experiences with haunted houses when I was younger. My haunted house dreams tend to take place in those types of houmes. *shrugs* It's a thing. Anyway, he'd had a house in mind and said, "Well there's just a few stories associate with the home." I gave him the look, and he backed off. Or so I thought...

He starts telling me about this house a friend of his owns. Got it really cheapt, has been fixing it up, and wants to sell it. Hubby wants it because he'd said it was a cool house. I'm thinking fine, it's not Victorian, I don't care. Then he says, "Well, there was the murder there. But other than that..." I screech back at him, "There was what?!"

Yup, the house has a history. Back in 1981, it was a huge story. A drug deal owned the home. Ran a pretty succesful "business" out of it apparently. He worked with like three other people, and if I got the story right one or two lived with him. Anyway, he had specially built places in the home to help hide the drugs when the shipments would come in. He told his associates he'd be out of town for a few days. His associates get the bright idea to doublecross him by finding the drugs and sell them. So they go on a search for the drugs. Never did find them, but managed to find some money and took off. Turns out Mr. Drug Dealer wasn't out of town, he'd been there the whole time to test them. He wanted to see if he could trust them. Long story short, he tracked them down and killed them. One of them ended up bleeding to death, and then shoved into a small box in pieces. All of this of course happened on the property.

I'm terrified by this point, sniffling and pouting practically on the verge of tears, thinking how much worse could this get that hubby now wants to move into this horrible place. I thought for a moment then brightly suggested, "Tell you what. Just set me up in a nice place in Palm Springs and you can live where you want." That made him pause of course. In the end he decided he's settle on tracking down the home blueprints and building a home like it.

Wow, yet another thing we have in common! *Raises hand* Lived in a haunted house too. Sooo glad you talked your man out of the house! The haunted house I lived in had a past with a suicide, and the realtors, naturally, didn't say anything about it. Well, who could blame them?

I wonder if that may contribute to our nightmare attacks...

I never knew what the deal was with the first haunted house I was in, and I suspect I may have caused the second one.

Interesting thought though, about a connection between nightmares and those hauntings. I ought to send you a thing someone sent me once that talks about what she'd learned from her mom about people who're are sensitive to spirits. You ever see anything else besides the time you'd lived in a haunted house?

Not really seen, more of sensed. For the most part, though, I seem to be more apt at making them stay away. My sister though, *whistles*, that girl has 'spirit target' written on her forehead.

But yes, I'd love to read the 'thing'. If you have it handy, go ahead and email me ^_^

Hey, not sure if you remember out conversation about ghosts and haunted houses?

I kinda forgot, and also it got locked in my Outlook while I was having trouble with it. Anyway, below is an excerpt from what the woman sent me on what she called, Shades.

[blockquote]You have described several different phenomena.

1. The ancient Greeks called them ‘shades’. Like you described, they look like a translucent person … a shade or shadow of what is visible. The individual you described was not a ghost. An actual ‘ghost’ does not respond to you. A ghost follows a given path and procession of actions and does not interact with you. A ghost follows a particular path and ‘re-lives’ or retraces something it did when he/she was there and actually alive. Apparently it is magnetic energy that fuels the playing of the image. Magnetism flows all around us in fields of many kinds so it may not be possible for us to figure the scientific source of images, unless you have actually studied magnetism in depth. Highly agitated emotions like last events can leave strong magnetic impressions.

The most disturbing event I have witnessed was at work one night. I used to work first shift at the airport. I had the store alone on the Delta concourse all night. All night I would clean the store, serve passengers on late disembarking planes as well as stranded all-night passengers and make popcorn after I cleaned the machine. One night after I had just finished cleaning the candy display, I had just walked back to behind the register to rest a moment before starting to dust the merchandise shelves when a flicker of light like the flame of a cigarette lighter caught my eye from the left of where I stood. Suddenly my store was full of shades! Men, women, children. It was as though a plane had disembarked. They were looking all around the store like any other group of passengers who had just landed… but there was no sound. They could not actually pick anything up but it looked like they were shopping like any other passengers. This went on for at least five minutes and then! they were all just gone all at once. I figure they were on a plane that crashed; this was like an anniversary of the event. There was a plane that would have been bound here in Atlanta from Paris many years ago. A girl I went to school with had an older brother on that plane. They were artists. The entire plane was destroyed in a crash with no survivors. I can’t help but feel it could have been them. I felt very sad for them wanting to live out their lives and be normal.

2. The individual you described as standing and looking back at you was not a ghost. There really are other dimensions and life goes on there just like here with rules of gravity and everything. Apparently there are times or means for realities to intersect. This is not a hostile intersecting, at least I have not been witness to anything negative.

Example: when we lived in East Point, for a period of several months, a man and his son ‘intersected realities’ with us in our house. Like ghosts, they are visually similar in appearance as shades, but they are alive and can interact and respond to you. We could see it was a man and a boy and they obviously belonged together. They could only move through particular areas of the house so they and we only had a particular area for possible contact. One day the boy was standing on a chair and looking out the window in the kitchen. From the corner of her eye Mama thought it was my brother and told him to ‘get down from there right now’! and he was startled and got down right away and quickly moved away from the area where he could be seen. The day they left, they let us know they were going. The house had an empty feel with them gone. We missed them.[/blockquote]

Yes! Send her a bunny. Get some good out of my weird hubby scaring me. Let me know if she does one. :) And you're not fic obsessed, unless you think I am. Then I guess we both are ;)
