...and never have I hated air conditioning more than I do right now. *grumbles* It's rainy and cold. Have I mentioned it's wet too?
*gr* Bah. Still much better to have it.
Job opportunities coming and going. Hubby and his brother didn't quite work out their differences with each other long enough to work out a contract between them. Both have issues working with each other. So, no better paying job for hubby.
On the bright side, they finally fired that dispatcher nobody gets along with at his current job (who just happened to be 95% of the reason he wanted to quit so bad). They're bringing back the older dispatcher and setting up a new system. No more lead dispatcher to order hubby around and piss him off. He just has to share the job with someone now. Bonus? They're raising his pay in addition to his regular annual raise.
We've got other things in the pipe, but nothing solid quite yet. Hubby made a few suggestions about alternative jobs. I still can't get myself a full-time job in a field I enjoy mainly due to my health. It's improving, but I'm not quite there yet. I need to give it another year before I try for something with better pay.
An odd option the hubby brought up was signing himself up for a 48-state run as a truck driver. He already has a class B license and wouldn't take much to get his class A to drive the big trucks. On a run like that, I wouldn't get left behind. I could go with him. It's good pay too.
Only thing is we'd have to figure out how to haul my computer with me. *gr* Might have to invest in a cheap wifi laptop or something. I hear there's some great deals out there for such things.
Anyway, we'd have to do it for maybe 18 months to three years before we had enough saved to come back and work on bigger and better things.
More news to come on that. If end up going with the trucking then we'll leave by Thanksgiving this year.
