Huh.  So.  Here I am at home all dressed up and nowhere to go.  Actually, I've been waiting since about 10:30am for hubby to call me and tell him where I should meet him for lunch.  Long story short, I'm still waiting at 3:24pm and I've gone through the last of the leftover pizza from dinner last night (mmm, nothing like cold Hawaiian pizza), about a dozen mini-peanut butter cups, and a small bowl of tortilla chips.

Interesting the observations one can make when bored out of their mind.  I'm sitting here looking at my fuzz free hair and wondering what happened to make it so un-frizzy.  On any normal day, it doesn't take any longer than about an hour into my work day for my hair to start in with the frizzing.  Drives me insane, I tell you.

Then it hits me.  I'm constantly running my hands through my hair in frustration when I'm working with the kids on the bus.  Then I leave it alone during the quiet times, but constantly have to throw it over my shoulder and out of my way (my hair is down to the middle of my back again).

Right.  So I guess that my frizzy hair comes from stress related fiddling.  *gr*

...and with that, I'm off to find another snack.  Hubby just called and lunch is out.  So is dinner.  On the bright side, I get to have me a burger from Sonic for dinner.  On hubby's tab, of course.

Cool! I've lived here for a year, and I've had a hard time finding people with my interests. The Midwest is a little more laid back, I think.

Probably won't give you a lot of hope to hear I've lived here quite a bit longer than a year and you're the first. Then again, there's not a lot of places out in Boise that you can do that. This place can be laid back in a lot of ways, but showing interesting in other than conservative issues is not one of them.

Well, there's two of us at least. Guess that means we got to stick together. *gr*

LOL, we're meant to be! Yep, people are too conservative for me here, although I'm vaguely moderate libertarian. I noticed you don't have kids yet. I had to wait because of health problems (am three months pregnant now), and people were extremely nosy about it! Grr.

vaguely moderate libertarian

My best guess for me is vaguely moderate independent. *gr*

I noticed you don't have kids yet.

Nope, no kids yet. I'm in the same boat here. I'm still in the waiting stage of the health problems. I'm getting a surgery done soonish (after the Nano) that should help with that.

people were extremely nosy about it! Grr.

Oy, they drive me nuts. My in-laws are the worst. Uber-conservatives from Utah. They cornered hubby and I one day and gave us another one of their famous baby lectures. I finally just blew up at them at told 'em to leave me alone, after of course telling them about said health problems. *rolls eyes*

Congrats on your baby, though! Always exciting news. Three months? So that puts you out in... April? Very cool.

That's probably me as well. I liked the idea of libertarian at first, but it doesn't suit me anymore.

Best of luck with the surgery and your recovery. I had to wait quite a while because I have autoimmune thyroid disease. It ended up being for the best financially, but I hate it when people say things like, "It'll happen when the time is right." Sure. And all our wishes always come true. *Shakes head*

Argh. My in-laws are Catholic, but they're better about it. My next-door (Mormon) neighbors started asking before I even moved into my house. Erg.

Yep, I'm due April 17 or thereabouts. It's our second try, but this one is going quite well.

For me it's a fibroid that's in the way. Didn't know it was there for the longest time, but it sure does explain things.

"It'll happen when the time is right." Sure. And all our wishes always come true.

Yup. That's usually when I smile and nod and try my best to control the urge to roll my eyes. *gr*

My next-door (Mormon) neighbors started asking before I even moved into my house.

Yup. Almost the entire clan of in-laws are Mormon. Actually, I am too... but I guess I'm a bit liberal. *shrug* We tend to come to heads about some issues. The kids issue comes up a lot. It's like the second question they all ask me. *sigh* I get used to it for most folks.

It's always good to know what's wrong at least. I do hope the surgery clears things up for you.

I think I'm lucky in that my family knows I'm fairly opinionated and doesn't bother me about that. I told them right out I was high risk and that seemed to help. Everyone's thrilled now, at least.
