This 'n' That
Jul. 20th, 2005 02:44 pm- I got my second paper back. I scored a 97 on it. Much improved from my 88 on the last paper. Not quite sure I entirely understand the reasoning for the docking of 3 points, but I'll have to talk to my professor about that.
- I'm completely besotted with Sark from Alias. He just cracks me up. Marshall runs a close second. I got a Sark/Sydney wallpaper for my desktop. Hubby accused me of having a thing for villains with names that begin with S and end in K (and sometimes KE). I pretended to be outraged at the suggestion.
- I found a box of girl scout cookies in my freezer. Samoas to be exact. They are now gone. It only took me a day and a half to go through them. A quick check of my symptoms caused me to realize this incident directly coincides with my period.
- No word yet on the job I applied for, but I found another potential job. Not sure if I want it, as it's full time. Full time makes me nervous. We'll see, though
- I was able to use some of the knowledge learned in my class to help my hubby. He's been having problems with his employees. He's describing their troubles to me, and I'm thinking that it sounds exactly like an example from one of my texts. So I tell him what I thought, and suggested he read a few of the articles I had on the subject. He looked shocked for a moment and then said, "You know, that's what Ms. Employee said to me. I didn't understand what she was talking about at the time, but that makes perfect sense." He's currently off reading the articles I printed out for him. Hopefully my class will benefit him some. On a side note, it's kinda cool to see the stuff in practice. It's an area I'm entirely unfamiliar with, so it's cool to see a live case study in action so I can see for myself how the knowledge is applied in a real situation.
Um... that's about it. I'm taking a small break in between bouts of working on my final paper for class. I'm having a bit of trouble trying to keep my number of words down to the minimum and still be able to tie in the examples my other teammates found for me to include. Bah. *whines* This is haaarrrdd!

Date: 2005-07-20 09:45 pm (UTC)Oh yeah... I'm really good about avoiding chocolate (for the most part, I actually let myself have a bit now and then, because dark chocolate is good for you... right?) and caffeinated drinks are completely gone from my diet. Except... during my period, when I crave both things like they're the only food I'll ever want.
Thankfully, I found a really good organic dark chocolate that I LOVE, that satisfies the cravings rather quickly... so, only a small uptick in chocolate consumption. And I managed to make it through this last time without touching one drop of Mountain Dew (and before that, I got by with half a glass). I tell you, though, caffeine and it's related chemical compounds (i.e. chocolate) were invented for times like that.
