My new alarm clock.
Sep. 27th, 2004 09:00 amYou know, I've always thought that my cat just had good timing and knew when to meet me each morning. But now I'm thinkin', he's the one that wakes me up.
I hear a huge thump, and sit straight up in bed. A scratching gallop across the floor has me looking at the ceiling wondering what's going on. A muffled trod down the steps comes next. Nature calls, so I probably should have gotten up anyway. As I open my door, a huge 18 pound flame point siamese cat waiting for me on the stairs landing with an innocent expression.
I'm not usually very awake in the mornings, but I vaguely recall now a similar thump waking me up each morning. Grrr...
*shuffles off to make breakfast*
*resists kicking the cat as I pass him on the stairs*
*twitches*

Date: 2004-09-27 08:36 am (UTC)One of my previous cats did all that, though. Drove me nuts when she wanted me up and I wanted to sleep. If the kneading of the boobs and batting my eyes and mouth didn't work, she'd crawl under the covers and claw my toes.

Date: 2004-09-27 09:11 am (UTC)We made the mistake of wiggling our toes under the covers for the cats to attack from the outside, when they were wee little kittens and didn't yet have razor-sharp claws. Now, they are spoiled for it, and can really hurt you if you accidentally move your foot under the covers while the cat is lying on top of the covers near your leg. Although this does not seem nearly as painful as the under-the-covers attack that your previous cat did. Wow.
