Emergency Help
Aug. 30th, 2004 11:14 pmAny of y'all with 10 and 11 yr old male kidlets? What kinda things are they into?
See, a friend of mine is a single mom of three boys. The littlest has a birthday coming up, and with her away working in Iraq she can't send things home. So a couple of us are gettin' him a few things.
He's getting a bike for sure, but does anyone have any other ideas?

Date: 2004-08-30 10:28 pm (UTC)Pokemon is still pretty popular but I think Yu-Gi-Oh is better with the movie coming out later. He might like something from Teen Titans or JLU if he's watched it on Cartoon Network.
Hope that helps!

Date: 2004-08-31 09:11 pm (UTC)he's a bit old for YuGiOh. HP is always safe. If he has some video game system you could chip in for a game. I don't know if he's a reader but there is a wonderful series called the Edge Chronicles. They're English. Are you one of my English friends? I can't remember, they're fab anywhich way.
here's a link to the first one on amazon.co.uk:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0552547336/qid=1094010762/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_27_3/026-1864991-9005212
thene you can get the next three books as a set here:

If he likes those he can reed the other three. They're so mad good and they have the most fabulous illustrations.
in order they're:

Date: 2004-09-01 06:55 pm (UTC)His passion is Legos. They have all different varieties, for all different age groups. Star Wars are a good bet, or, as mentioned, Harry Potter. Spider-man 2 would be a big hit.
Clothes. He's starting to get into clothes. Baggy and, if possible, name brand. Nothing with cartoon characters on it, as those are old news by 10.
He suggests a skateboard or a skooter.
A new plain backpack, for school. No characters on it. They enjoy filling all of the pockets with things, and that it is new.
CDs, or a walkman. Andy really wants the Now16 CD, with the top 15-20 songs on the charts right now. He says Usher would be a good CD.
