SF Folks: Were you in Dolores Park for the fireworks?

NOTE: A friend of mine from the bay area in CA sent this to me.  I thought I'd forward it.  I'm not from the area, so I'm unfamiliar with the story.  Whatever happened, it's just sad that people can be so dangerous with this stuff.

Roisin Isner, drummer for the San Francisco band Tinkture lost her hand in Dolores Park last night watching the fireworks. Her dad sent the email below to some local media outlets...

Hello,

I am Roisin's father. July 4th, Roisin and friends were in Dolores Park watching fireworks. Some stupid piece of shit threw an M60 at them. It landed on Roisin's right hand and blew it apart. She will undego surgery later this morning but it doesn't look good. Most likely she will lose her index finger; second and third fingers will also be permanently impaired and disfigured. Needless to say, her musical career is over.

I want this fucker. Media attention will help flush him out. People know who did it and I'm offering $20,000 for a name. Please do whatever is necessary to get the story out. Do so and I will reward you as well.

I'm not sure if I will even be able to sleep tonight. It's just so uncomfortable. I'm really not looking forward to tomorrow. It's supposed to be just that much hotter. Working on the bus so far hasn't been too bad. I'm off by 1pm which is before the hottest part of the day hits. But still... *wanders around looking for an extra fan*

wow thats terribly sucky... i hate people who always have to ruin it for everyone and they think they can get away with it but it always ends up hurting someone because they wanted to fuck around. grr

Better than I normally would for these conditions, but I'm worse off than I would be on a normal day. My chest doesn't hurt. I've had to use my inhaler once more than I usually would by this time of day. Now ask me this in a couple days and my answer might be different. The longer these conditions last, the worse off I am. The one thing that's been bothering me the worst the last few days (today included) is migraines.

Glad you're okay so far. Elizabeth is breathing just fine, so I guess she's improved a lot since last year. I used my inhaler once and usually don't at all. Getting nervous about the next few days, but just maybe it will rain?
