Since everyone seems to be wondering...
Sep. 1st, 2010 01:26 pmI had originally set my Facebook and Twitter to mirror my posts. Mostly because I don't have but a very few people that actually have LJs on those sites that I'm friends with. But I changed my mind. I just don't trust the system.
I'm having trouble with the idea that some of the posts I've got locked down may not be protected. Plus, I'm not keen on it mirroring posts for people that ARE over there on my friends list as well. In the reverse it drives me nuts, so I can see the logic of just doing away with it.
Goes without saying for me that the comments bit is completely worthless. Same reasons apply there, as I've heard they're publishing everything including filtered and locked posts and it'd get tedious besides.
So, I've got the whole damn thing turned off.
Don't care either way if the few people I see over there do mirror them. I'll skip over it anyway since I get email notifications of updates.
As for the ticky boxes they have on every post, it bugs me a bit. I do like having the option to mirror posts if I so choose (an option I'll never use anyway). I can't guarantee comments and posts are protected so it's rather a moot point anyway.
/ bandwagon jump complete
