Looky!  I made an icon!

Comment, Credit, Take.

I made it for a spy friend.  I tinted it to match a specific layout, but I rather like the look of it.  I think I'm going to do more of them.

NOTES: I used a color tinting technique that I'm going to write up a tutorial on sometime soon.  I did it by accident one day and rather like the results.  Just as soon as I get up the gumption to make up the tutorial graphics, I'll publish them.  To give you an idea of what the technique does, here's the originals before I applied the color tinting...
Step 1
Step 2
Step 1 - Original
Step 2 - First color @ Soft Light
STEP 1: This is the original.  Obviously, I prepped the photograph to give it an artisitic look before it go to this point, but I only used my standard two step process I apply to all the images I plan on turning into icons.
STEP 2: This is after I've applied the first step in the color change.  This one is just a light pink set to Soft Light @ 100%

The icon could probably be finished at Step 2, but I had to give it the tint to make sure it blended with the layout to which I was setting it.  I'll give y'all more details on the full process another time.  For now, enjoy the icon if you want it!

Using the handy-dandy tool over at .htaccess Tools (dot) com (as suggested by my site hosts), I have finally installed image protection on my site.

I'm telling y'all for two reasons:
1) I think I got all the domains that access my images with permission added in, but if you happen to see one of my "hotlinking not allowed" images... could you let me know?
2)The site I linked is an easy solution for those of you who've been having these troubles with image theft too.

For those of you who are having trouble with understanding the concept of HOTLINKING, may I direct your attention to an article on the subject: "What is hotlinking and bandwidth theft?"

ETA: I almost forgot, I found a HOTLINKING REPORT page on Xanga.com for those of you with theft problems from that site. HERE.
