Wasting time rambling...

beren_writes. I really enjoyed this one very much. I've never much been for Harry/Draco, but I got rather hooked on it regardless. Fics like this one do the pairing justice. Draco is still an arrogant prick (at times), but he's got that "save your own ass" logic behind his actions. He doesn't switch houses or anything, but he still becomes a pawn in the game against Voldemort. Of course, Harry is there to make it all better.
Not much else is going on at the moment. I'm still stuck at home with pillow feet. I still have a ton of errands and other chores to do, but I haven't yet done them because of aforementioned feet.
I've been sleeping from 5am to 12pm lately because of hubby's second job. It's his first week on the job and he's having trouble adjusting his schedule, so I've been staying up to help him wake up.
Ooh, I did have a nifty find. When I'm staying up I've gotten into the habit of looking up specific terms on Youtube.com and Google.com to see what I came up with. The other night my search term of the day was "Mech," and I found some interesting sites:
Folks, I'm in hog heaven at this site. I luuurve makeup and special effects. They had two different lines of theatrical makeup, some of which can be used everyday (and at a much lower cost). There were a few nifty items I found such as loose setting powders, sealers, and professional brushes.
The powders was only cool because they come in such large containers and they're in different colors (including translucent and no-color anti-shine versions).
The sealers is something I've need for a long time. I've been using True Colors loose powdered makeup for years now. It's the kind of makeup you can use either wet or dray, and can be used for any purpose. I use them dry for eye shadow and blush, and wet for eyeliner, lipliner and lipstick, and mix them with blank bases for things like lipgloss and mascara. The only problem with them is that while they're long lasting, they don't give me any sort of smudge-free or water resistant finish. As it turns out, the LiquiSet sealer can be mixed with the powders in lieu of water to give a smudge-free and water-resistant finish to the makeup should I use it as a liner. There's also the FinalSeal which is sprayed over the top of everything to give the same protection.
Hubby laughed about that one when I told him. He reminded me of the film "Miss Congeniality" where Victor checks "Gracie" over before she goes to stage and says something along the lines of, "Two more coats, and then seal it."
*snerk* It would seem that I have an inner beauty queen just busting to get out. *gr*

I found a guy in Alaska who's built his own real Mech...
I also found a guy whose a whiz at whipping up cool Halloween costumes. The cool thing about this last guy is that he uses special effects techniques to build some of his costumes. When someone asked how he made the nifty looking armor on his Wolf "Mech," he linked to a special effects supply company.
