Holiday Rec Edition

I've been reading in the Harry Potter fandom this holiday weekend, and I've got some recs for y'all.

First, I just finished reading a lovely story, "Faith" by Dragorongirl16. It's a completed novel-length fic with a Draco/Harry pairing. It places Harry in Slytherin some time in the summer just before Sirius would have died. It's very well written, and thought out. It's got some interesting ideas of how things could have gone very differently, and it's all oddly believable.

Next up, I've started reading "Gentry Green" by Lisa Roquin from the Hogwarts Apprentices series (it's the first, I think). Another AU where Harry along with two other of his house mates, three Slytherins, and a Ravenclaw are entered into an apprenticeship shortly after completing their OWLs. Haven't gotten very far, but it's been intriguing so far. Harry and his fellow apprentices are put into quite a position after a series of unfortunate events, if you'll excuse the phrase.

Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans! High fives all around for the four-day weekend!!! w00t! My sypmathies to everyone else who only got two days. *gr*
