Just a few notes about Michael

I'm watching the VH-1 special on Janet Jackson, and got curious about the ages of her and her siblings. Got to Michael, her older brother, and came across some interesting tidbits about him. Won't bore you with it, but what I found most interesting is a couple of quotes of his.

"I don't like Pop music."

And this comes from the King of Pop. I find that intensely fascinating. It's like this country music star my hubby was telling me about (can't remember who now) who is a classically trained musician. He prefers classical music. But, he's good at and successful with country. So that's what he does with his life. Which leads me to the second quote.

"People think they know me, but they don't. Not really. Actually, I am one of the loneliest people on this earth. I cry sometimes, because it hurts. It does. To be honest, I guess you could say that it hurts to be me."

I guess that one intrigues me because of the depressing nature of it. I feel like that sometimes. I was having a discussion with my Mom last week, venting about a few things dealing with her divorce. I revealed a few things about myself that left her standing there in her kitchen gaping at me. I think I surprised her. The only thing she could think to say was, "But you act so normal." Nothing so shocking really to most folks, just that some of the pain from my life isn't something I reveal to most folks. People don't want to know. Or at least, I've never met anyone that has.

Getting way off topic here. Didn't mean to vear off into the Land of the Depressed. I just thought those couple of quotes were interesting. I haven't always like his music, but I've always respected him as an artist. He's truly brilliant and has accomplished more in his life than others can even dream of in their own careers. I don't particularly care for what goes on in his personal life either, it's none of my business.

But that's neither here nor there. He's just got interesting things to say I suppose.
