Desert Visions
Oct. 22nd, 2003 03:09 pmI had this vision once when I was a bit younger, then again only earlier this year. The first time it was the beginning. The second time it was a conclusion, and a new beginning. I'm not sure if anyone else would get this, but one of my totems is a fox. This one in particular is special to me because of the help it gave me when I needed it most. It would appear to my friends at odd times, and odd places, often times bringing with it warnings. For them, it was a sign that I needed them. For me, but only something I realized later, it was showing me the ones in my life that would betray me. Rather fitting considering the nature of the fox.
The visions take place is a desert. That's the part that I suppose I wanted to share with you. I wrote a little about what that location means to me, at least as far as the visions and dreams are concerned...
In the desert one tends only to find the truth inside oneself, or die to the illusion. The desert is empty, seemingly barren, yet there is life here. A life free of anything but the absulute essentials; this is a place pregnant with possibilities. You can find yourself here, or you can die. The wind, the sun, the sand, or some combination therof. It is barren. You have here only what you bring with you. If you don't bring enough water, or hope, you will never make it through the journey.
