saifai1) I'm getting a new car.
My car needs re-financing because my loan was buggered from the bankruptcy. Found a loan company that will reduce the interest rate by half and put it on a simple interest loan for me. They're requiring me to have a newer car (because of the warranty). Such a hardship, but I shall endure. Bonus? It's lowering my insurance because of it.
2) Hubby's getting a new car too.
Hubby's car broke down awhile back and we've been borrowing my mom's second car. Her main car just broke down so she needs to drive it. We're getting a nifty truck for him from the same place. Bonus? They're taking our old broken car off our hands for low blue book as a down payment on it. It's also going on the simple interest loan and will again lower our insurance.
On a side note, the dealer offered to buy my mother's car and use it as a down payment to re-finance my current car for herself as a replacement for the one that just broke down.
3) No new job for hubby until after we buy a new house.
This was rather a duh moment for us, but I'm glad we thought of it now. We're in the market to buy a house. We have our lender picked out, but we've been waiting for the bankrupcty to charge off before we started the process. We're about ready to finally start the ball rolling on all that. It occurred to us that if we want to buy a home, they'll want hubby to have a good work record. If hubby has a new job, good pay though it may have, that won't look good for us. We need all the advantage we can get at this point. So, that means hubby will have to wait until after we get the house before he takes the new job. The good thing about that is our loan and payment will be based on his current pay rate.
4) Doctor Who is going to start in the USA on the Sci-Fi Channel this March!!!
