Okay. I'm about to reveal to you a huge secret. *ssssshhhhhh* Don't tell anyone! Right. So I'm sure by now I've told you about my horror stories with cooking?
...I burned water once. I tried making a hamburger soufflé and it turned out so bad the neighborhood dogs wouldn't even eat it. I don't know how to make Jello.
*shrug* The usual stories.
Well, as it turns out... I can actually follow a recipe. And? They turn out pretty good. The short of it? I can cook. But see, when I tell people those horror stories they don't ask me to cook them anything.
Foiled Again
Unfortunately when the person that asks you to cook is the person that taught you how to cook is told those stories as a deterrent? Tthey roll their eyes at you and ignore you and hand you the recipes they want you to make.
Right. *scuffs toes on floor* It seems I've got some cookies to bake. Mom is going baking crazy this year. She made a ton of quick breads (pumpkin, banana nut, cranberry nut, date nut, and lemon nut breads). She ran out of time and still has more to bake so she asked me to take care of the cookies. *counts the recipes* More specifically she asked me to make eight different kinds of cookies and three different types of candies.
Bah humbug.
I've stalled as long as I could. I now have no choice but to bake asordered asked. *scowls and gets out the measuring spoons*
