saifaiOh, I was a basket-case. The entire ride to the building where the "Meeting of Creditors" was held, I kept humming the theme song that the Wicked Witch of the West's minions march to in Wizard of Oz. Of course by the time we got up to the front doors, I told hubby that I was turning around and running for the hills at the first sight of a flying monkey.
The guys manning the front desk, all four of them, look like Agent Smith clones. I had to bite my lip pretty hard to keep from calling them "overgrown flying monkeys".
Skipping over the nail biting and waiting, we finally got our chance to speak. I couldn't look the woman, our trustee, in the eyes. I kept seeing the grim reaper in my mind. She didn't ask a bunch of questions, which surprised me. She just skimmed over our paperwork, asked us to send copies of our taxes from 2004 and this coming year. Then we were done.
::blink:: That was it. 60 days from now it'll be finalized. I was rather shell shocked the whole way home. I was being really negative too, which I guess I did because I was nervous. The hubby kept asking me if someone pissed in my Wheaties, which of course got him a raised eyebrow and me wondering where on earth he picked that phrase up.
Still not with the relief, but I'm getting there. I'll at least say that it's a big weight off my shoulders. I know we're finally heading in the right direction.
...and with that lovely bit of news I'm off to pack. The hubby and I, along with my mother, are driving down to Utah tonight to spend Thanksgiving with hubby's parents and a couple of his siblings. I won't be back until later Saturday in case you expect to hear from me and don't.
