I finally figured out the CSS I needed to make the code all work right on the Photo Lab.  Sorry to say, I still don't have my pics up there yet.  I'm working on it though.  Now that I've got the front page all squared away, I can start adding the other pages.  Well, actually, I do have one other page in the site.  I've added a page in there with some of the source pics I use for [livejournal.com profile] kyrieane (and sometimes [livejournal.com profile] txrabbit) stuff (sooo not a work safe link either).

And on a related subject here, can I just say that it's so weird to do so much hand coding? I mean I used a visual editor to kinda make sure the codes I fiddled with turned out okay, but most of it was done by hand. Kinda proud of myself there. *gr*

In other news, we got an offer on one of our investment properties.  I'm really hopin' it goes through, as the place has just one big sucking money pit since we got it.  We made a few mistakes with it, but live and learn, ya' know?  It's less money than we were hoping for, but then again we reeeaaallly need to get rid of this thing.

BTW, there's this local story I couldn't help but... well, I'm not sure whether to laugh, stand in awe at the luck, or just feel relieved.  Okay.  A guy here in town won  the Powerball.  Hubby works with a friend of his.  He was the manager of the Kopper Kitcher restaurant.  Well when he found out he won $18 million, he quit.  He decided to take the money in cash, and after taxes and fees he came out with a next of $7.2 million.  Not bad eh?

Well the first thing he does is make plans to head to California and buy a luxury sports car of some sort, and buy a house, and what not.  You know, the typical spending habits of the "I've got a lot of freakin' money so nonny boo boo".  Didn't really hear anything more about him until hubby came home today.  First thing out of his mouth is, "That guy that won all the money?  He's completely broke."

Yeah.  I was waiting for it.  Kinda rolled my eyes a bit.  As it turns out though, he changed his mind about it all.  See what happened is that he set himself up pretty good.  Paid for a four year degree for business school, an account to pay for his living expenses during that entire time, a trust fund to save for the future, and a new car.  Sounds like a pretty smart thing to do, no?

You have no idea.  So when the man was just a boy of about, oh 15 or so, he and his friends had a little accident with a match.  They accidentally set fire to government land.  His parents paid payments to pay back the government for the loss of the land up until he was 18, but then he took over payments.  Apparently, it was in the contract that should he ever come into any money, he would need to use it to pay a lump some to this humongo debt.  $6 million later, he doesn't have any money left.

He really saved himself by deciding at the last minute to be wise with his money, or he would have lost everything.  He's setup for his future, and I guess that is what counts right now.  He still owes like a couple million yet to the government, but that's okay.

So that's it for now.  I got another plot bunny tonight.  Gonna just make some notes on it and get on it after this week.  Got to get those projects done.  I'm off to work on one of them now.  Hope y'all had a good day. :)
