The Holiday Rundown. Now with Fic Recs!

Just something funny that happened yesterday with hubby...

10am - I go in to pick up my check, and to take Hubby out to brunch.  The lady in the desk next to his sees me walk in a turns to him and says, "Better hurry!  She's here to pick you up!"  I walk back into the office and look over his shoulder to find him playing Solitaire.  Free Cell to be exact.

1:30pm - (I heard about this much later, but...) The people in hubby's office all start plotting the demise of the singing & dancng plastic 4 ft. Santa in their office.  One of the other driver's who'd come into pick up their check, left their kidlet waiting by the Santa.  The child wouldn't let go of Santa, leaving the jolly fat man a stay of execution.  They then moved onto plotting the demise of the dancing and singing popup Scooby and Shaggy.

4pm - He calls me and asks me to log onto the internet to find out if marshmallows are freezable.

LOL - Apparently they had a really busy day today.  There weren't any charters out for the buses to drive, meaning hubby the dispatcher didn't have anything to do.  The only other thing to do in the office was to re-organize the school bus routes, except that their software was undergoing upgrades for the entire day.  I guess his supervisor had told the ones that were required by company procedure to be in the office to just take the day off and not work too hard while they were there.

My day went pretty good.  I was in a really peaceful mood all day.  Took me an hour to travel a 20 minute trip to get down through the mall area to the book store.  Luckily I had called my order in ahead of time so that I could just walk in and pick up my gifts for hubby at the register.  Spent way more than I intended to, but I feel good about it.  Left from there to do the last of my Christmas dinner shopping.  The store was way busy, but I just walked through the story singing (or attempting to anyways with my still recovering voice) Christmas carols the entire time.  Got a few raised eyebrows, but so what.  :)

Came home, wrapped the rest of my presents, and got caught up on my reading.

Fic Recs for the 23rd:
* "The Gift of Christmas" by [livejournal.com profile] sukibluefiction - Spike takes care of Xander.
* "Drifting Closer" by [livejournal.com profile] kyrieane - Spander schmoop, and it's all mine. But I'm willing to share.

Also?  Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] edahs_lanrete!

Sounds like hubby had a great day, then. I just spent my last day at work flicking through holiday brochures. Greece, baby!!!!

Thanks so much for the rec!

Yup. I think he did. They had a mini office party too, I think. There were cookies and presents exchanged. LOL Wish my last day of the season would have been like that. Going through brochures doesn't sound too bad either. Nor does Greece for that matter. :)

...and you're very welcome for the rec. Just downloaded the 7th part in my inbox and am excited to read it.

Hee!! Sounds fun. And you survived going to the mall. That takes a lot of courage this time of year, no joke.

Have a good holiday!

Well don't keep us all in suspense! Are they?

I am, of course, referring to the freezability of marshmallows. Enquiring minds want to know. *g*

::giggles:: Yes, in fact they are freezable. Keep 'em in a freezer safe ziploc baggie and they'll be fresh still when thawed. *g*
