Any TV buffs out there?

Hubby called me with an unusual question, as he usually does since I can often find the answer.  This one had me stumped though.  It sounds vaguely famiiar, but I can't place it.

It was a carpet sweeper cartoon.  I immediately placed it to someone's opening or closing credits on an old tv show.  I first thought the Carol Burnett Show show, but dismissed it.  She had a bag lady in hers I think (which was a cartoon versin of her).  So that's not it.  Still sounds familiar though.

Hubby said, "He's like a little janitor or something pushing a broom. He had a little mustache."

Still starting to sound like the one from the show, but that's not it.  Sesame Street had a joke version of Charlie Chaplin, but that was a person not a character.  Saturday Night Live character cartoon maybe?

ETA: Got it narrowed down to either an episode from the Pink Panther or the janitor from Peabody's Improbable History. Thank you to everyone who helped out with that one. *hugs all around*

Sounds really familiar. I keep thinking Carol B., too.

The Pink Panther cartoon had a janitor guy in it.

I found an episode with a janitor, We Give Pink Stamps. That might be it. Still trying to track down images for it.

Thanks!

Know what? This sucks, 'cause i can SEE The litle guy, pushing his little broom...
Carol Burnett had a caricatrue of herself dressed like a char-lady, mopping with a pail and mop... Little mob-cap on her head and big shoes...

Damn, the guy with the broom... I'm thinking older, maybe, like around the time of the Dick Van Dyke show...
Grrrrrrrr.
Now it's in my head. Evol!!

Somebody else was thinking it might have been from The Pink Panther cartoons.

That's the second one I've got for that show. Was it in the Fractured Fairytales? Or somewhere else?

[identity profile] fenchurche.livejournal.com 2004-11-08 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure it was Fractured Fairytales, but [livejournal.com profile] entrenous88 is definitely right that it's Rocky & Bullwinkle. I pulled out my DVDs to check them, and the janitor guy is even on the box.

Okay, I checked the DVDs, and he's at the end of the intro for "Peabody's Improbable History," not "Fractured Fairytales" after all.

Yes yes, with the women scattering flowers, and the general line of cavorting Aesop-style, with the poor janitor with the push broom coming along at the end. 8D
