Wasn't gonna post about this, but...

I just had to say it (and I believe this is my first ever political post in this journal).

Yes, I went and voted (Go Obama!!!).

But that's not the what I wanted to share. Saw something very odd on the ballot. I'd heard jokes about this, but didn't realize it was true.

There was a senate candidate named "Pro-Life" (yes, that hyphenated word is his full legal name).

*tries not to snicker*

Then in parentheses after that was his former name (Marvin Richardson). Article here if you're curious.

*bites lip hard*

On another odd note, I've never seen so many happy people in one place in my life. If the sun could have a smile and burst out in song, it would have. People were skipping (yes, skipping), smiling, laughing, holding open doors for random people (myself included).

o.0

It was like walking into the twilight zone.

*goes back to ignoring the election until I absolutely HAVE to (and only because my mother is going to go apeshit over it when she gets back tonight)*

Ok, I fully admit that when John and I left the voting location this morning, we held hands and skipped thru the parking lot on our way to the car. It just felt like the right time to skip. :O)

We are sitting here watching the election coverage. VA isn't as blue as we hoped it would be. It's distressing.

I'm going to try to get some NaNoWriMo done here. Even though I'm glued to the TV.

Whoa, that is the most bizarre name ever. *Boggles* We had a frightening Constitution party guy on our ballot whose current occupation is "maintenance" and history was "various jobs." His spiel was really nutty.

Yeah, I did a double-take at the Pro-life guy.

However, it did make the church sign I read that said "Vote for Pro-life" make waaaaay more sense.
