Past the pity party and into the snarky contemplative chick high on Chocolate...

It's dang cold here. This morning when hubby got up for work, he said it was a whole degree outside. When I went to bed, it was 3. And, there's snow. You know, it's cold enough for car batteries to start.

Hubby had an interesting morning it seems. I woke him up, thinking he was late for work. He did wake up a bit later than usual, but he would be fine. He gets out to the car, and he'd left the amp for the stereo on all night and it drained the battery. Normally it doesn't do that in one night, but with our car acting up and the cold weather it didn't bode well for our little car. So, he works on getting the frozen shut hood open for awhile. Then attaches a battery recharger. Didn't help, so he tries to get our other car open to jump it. While he's working on getting the hood on that car open (with a crow bar), he hears this young woman coming down our street talking loudly. He can hear her saying over and over again, "No! I'm telling you no!" He stops what he's doing and turns to see this girl walking along the side of the road with a car slowly creeping along beside her. She's furiously shaking her head no, and telling the driver No. She looks up at hearing hubby in the driveway and runs up to him. She asks him to use his phone, which he promptly abliges by handing her his cell phone. She calls her sister. So the story goes...

Her car was reposessed. She lives in Boise, and works in Kuna (which from where we live is about a twenty minute drive, a pretty good distance in the boonies). Her sister drops her off at work at night, and picks her up in the morning. The problem is that her sister won't take her all the way home. She drops her off at her own house, which is about three miles away from her parents house. For the last two weeks she's been harassed by this guy in a truck during the walking portion of her trip. I guess he's someone that she's seen as an occasional customer where she works. He follows her from her sister's house all the way to her own front door. He tries to get her to get in. He tells her she's completely beautiful and wants to kiss her. She's totally freaking out, and all this time during this two weeks she's been trying to get other people's attention as they drive by. Nobody stops because she's being followed by a car, thinking it's them she's waving her hands at. She helped hubby jump start our car, then he took her the rest of the way home (since she couldn't reach her sister). She'll be by tomorrow morning for another ride (since her sister lives around the corner from us), and hopes that the police will be there waiting (she called them when she got home).

I really fear for the poor girl. The guy sounds kinda creepy.
