Oh, the insanity.
Hubby dragged me out of the house for a night out yesterday. He took me to a garden party. I was supremely amused when the assumed I was the one who had been invited. Rather reminded me of the times I've been in a store or dealership and asked about the whereabouts of my husband.
I had a hard time concentrating the entire time I was there. I finally gave in and accounted for my reasons when people kept looking at me funny. I briefly went over the whole Nano thing to them. This one lady, a woman I work with, raised her eyebrow at me and questioned me. She just couldn't understand that I would want to write a book. For fun. And not because I was required of it, like for college or something. Which I then corrected her and said that I was in college, and she raised her eyebrows well past her hairline. I couldn't help but giggle.
Anyway, after that the women there watched me like a hawk. Any sign of me muttering about my story or composing sentences and plot lines under my breath and they'd chuck a bean at my head (we were playing Bingo).
